Katherine & Jesus in a Cattle Field

Every once in a while, a session comes along that just feels different. Not because of the perfectly coordinated outfits, or the location (also stunning)… but because of the incredible people! This session with Katherine and Jesus was no exception!

We met out on a cattle farm in Morgan County, but this wasn’t just any farm. It’s the place where Jesus spent countless summers growing up, working the land, learning life’s rhythms, and making memories. He was calling the cattle and even asked to take a photo with one of the bulls. I told him I would be happy to take it BUT I was not going near it…little did they know I was 10 weeks pregnant. It was such a gift to photograph him and Katherine there, in a space that holds so much of his childhood. We hopped in a side-by-side and rode from pasture to pasture, telling stories, soaking in the views, all the while dodging cows and cow patties. And to top it all off, it was sprinkling rain almost the entire time. But these two? Totally unphased. They laughed, held hands, and rolled with it.

Hands down my favorite part was that they slow danced right there in the field, with cows grazing around them and a soft drizzle falling overhead. It was as though I was witnessing a Nicholas Sparks movie in real life. It felt quiet and cinematic, the kind of moment that didn’t need to be posed because it was truly already perfect.

Katherine has been a dear friend of mine for years, and knowing how thoughtful and intentional she is in everything she does, it just made this session even more meaningful. Seeing her so loved, so herself, with someone who clearly respects her, was the icing on the cake. As both her photographer and friend, I couldn’t be any happier!
