Getting to document Madi and Phillip Anderson’s gender reveal was such a gift. There are some moments that feel tender from the very start, and this was one of them. Their session was filled with laughter, ease, and that sweet anticipation that comes with dreaming about the life growing just out of view.
Madi is the kind of person who brings calm into every space she enters. She is laid back, genuine, and effortlessly kind. Everything about her feels steady and pure, and there is no doubt in my mind that she is going to be the very best mama. Phillip carries that same go with the flow spirit, paired with a warm blue collar humor that made the entire session feel light and joyful.
We met on a beautiful private property in Madison County, the perfect setting for something so personal. They chose a floral arrangement gender reveal, just the two of them, and it was such a joy getting to quietly hold the secret for a few moments. I set up one of their phones so they could have a video to look back on, then tucked the flowers behind Phillip’s back. On the count of three, they turned around, and the moment unfolded exactly as it was meant to.
Madi grew up surrounded by strong women. She is an only child and shares a close bond with her mama and her grandmother. She also has a cousin who feels much more like a sister and a niece she adores deeply. Being raised in a world filled with girls, she was fully prepared and ready to be on team girl herself.
So when Madi turned and saw Phillip holding a bouquet of blue flowers, the reaction was honest and full of heart. Phillip’s words were simple and absolutely perfect. “Madi, what are you going to do with a boy.” It was laughter, emotion, and joy all meeting in one beautiful moment.
The love these two share is undeniable, and capturing the beginning of this chapter was such an honor. Madi, you are going to be an incredible mama to your little boy, and I am so grateful I got to document this moment as your story continues to grow.
