Moon And Thomas Family Session in Comer, Georgia

Being invited back to photograph a family after working with one of their seniors is always such an honor, and returning to the Moon and Thomas family felt especially meaningful. I had the joy of working with Blake last summer for her senior session, so to be welcomed back to document her family together on their family farm truly meant the world to me.

This session brought together an extended family, with Tara and her family joined by her brother Russ and his family. Extended family sessions hold such a special place in my heart because they capture seasons that often go undocumented. Once children grow and build lives of their own, gathering everyone together becomes less frequent and even more meaningful when those special occasions happen.

It was especially sweet when two of my worlds intertwined during this session. Outside of photography, I serve as the Vice President of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and Russ’s farm is a proud member of the Chamber and part of our Georgia Grown Trail 98 agritourism initiative. I have had the opportunity to work with him often in a professional capacity, so getting to know him and his family in a more relaxed, personal setting as their photographer was truly such a gift. Moon Farms is a beautiful place filled with heart, history, and intention, and it made the perfect backdrop for this session.

Photographing Mrs. Brenda and Mr. Dennis with their children and grandchildren was especially meaningful. You could feel how much these images mattered, not just as photographs, but as reminders of the family they have built together. No matter how grown the kids may be, they will always be their babies, and preserving that connection is something worth holding onto.

Thank you to the Moon and Thomas families for inviting me into your story and trusting me to document this season together. I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know you all better and deeply honored that this session was my first family session back after maternity leave. It is one I will always remember with a full heart.
